May 2010 |
The Music Still Plays
My heart
goes out to those in Nashville and also the communities
north of us on the Cumberland Rivers that experienced
recent flooding. Although Nashville's recovery and
clean-up will take some time their volunteer spirit is
already hard at work. Many of the businesses are open
and the music is still playing in Music City. I found
the best travel information here at visitmusiccity. My mom is
going to Nashville this weekend. I plan to visit
soon.
The water has traveled north, and we are seeing
unprecedented water levels on both Kentucky and
Barkley Lakes. We are dry in downtown Grand Rivers where
the water levels are controlled by the
dams. The lake levels ARE high and the Jetty
on KY Lake has water over it and the water is very high
in the marinas. The marinas are doing an excellent job
dealing with this challenge. We're playing music here
in Grand Rivers too. The Big Band Show is tonight
and the Variety! show opens tomorrow night. Both shows
offer buy one get one half off specials for this
weekend. Our May calendar is full of fun
so come on out and join us for a fun filled springtime
at the lakes.
